Rotterdam Gispen’s N.V. 1930

In 1930’s, during an expansion of the building of the distinguished gentleman’s club-De Littéraire Sociëteit De Witte- in the Hague, the Interior was modernised. The architect j. Limburg chose to use a sober Art-Deco style with furniture of Pander and lighting by Gispen. For the entrance with monumental staircase Willem Gispen designed lighting ornaments and this large chandelier.

The chandelier was exhibited in museum Boijmans van Beuningen as part of the exhibition Gispen Specials in 2016. Afterwards the chandelier was mounted in the entrance hall of the house of its new owners.
