Electrifying design: A Century of Lighting

Electrifying Design: A Century of Lighting

February 21 – May 16, 2021
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, USA

July 19 – September, 2021
High Museum of Art Atlanta, USA

One of the highlights of Dutch modernism from our collection is the Giso no.23. This iconic pendant lamp, of which we previously sold an identical copy to the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, will be on temporary loan to The Museum of fine-Arts in Houston Texas USA for the exhibition “Electrifying Design: A Century of Lighting”.

Using 80 famous lamp designs from all over the world, the curators highlight different facets of the history of 100 years of electric light.

The exhibition, which will continue to The High Museum of Art in Atlanta after Houston, will feature more lighting of Dutch origin, such as work by ‘Studio Drift’ and the ‘Hartog’ 3-tube pendant lamp by Gerrit Rietveld.

Our Giso lamp has been carefully placed in a custom made transport box.

In which the lamp will first travel to Houston and then to Atlanta.

The Giso 23 is beautifully displayed at the exhibition, electrified and in working condition!
